JEWELLERY CARE
CLEANING
The best way to clean your Sterling Silver Jenny Deans jewellery is to use silver dip. You can buy this from any high street jewellers, homeware shops and most supermarkets.
Place your jewellery in the silver dip and leave for just a few seconds. Leave slightly longer if badly tarnished, but no longer than 10 seconds. Then, rinse well with warm water. Using a soft toothbrush and fairy liquid, brush the silver all over. Rinse thoroughly and dry using a hairdryer, making sure you have a cloth in between your hand and the jewellery as the metal will heat up! This will reduce any water marks after drying.
For a more Eco friendly method of cleaning, you can use bicarbonate of soda, foil and boiling water. Scrunch up a scrap of foil. Place in a non metallic bowl with a good sprinkle of bicarbonate of soda and add boiling hot water. Your jewellery should clean up instantly.
For pendants on cable or wire neckwires, remove pendant from the neckwire and use a silver polish cloth and run the cable or wire through the cloth gently with your fingers. For the pendant section please follow the instructions above.
For any items with pearls, dip only the silver, or if they are encased please only use a silver polish cloth.
Please DO NOT silver dip any Argentium Silver jewellery. This has been heat treated to build up a clear Germanium oxide layer on the surface of the silver which the dip would remove. Please only clean these pieces with some lukewarm soapy water and give them a gentle rub with a soft cotton cloth
Over time precious metal, especially silver will tarnish. When your Jenny Deans jewellery starts to tarnish, use the steps above to clean it. Please refrain from leaving your Jenny Deans jewellery to tarnish for too long. The more tarnished it becomes, the harder it is to regain it’s original finish.
GENERAL CARE
Avoid spraying or applying any cosmetics to your body while wearing your Jenny Deans jewellery. Apply any cosmetics such as perfume or hairspray before you put your jewellery on.
